SIPHEALTH: Project Results and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Activities Presented in Zrenjanin
A Promotional Event and Press Conference within the project “Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area – SIPHEALTH” (RORS00008) were held at the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin on 22 September 2026. During the event, the activities implemented and results achieved so far were presented, with particular emphasis on the improvement of healthcare services in the field of cardiology, the use of medical equipment procured through the project, and activities aimed at cardiovascular disease prevention. The medical equipment procured within the SIPHEALTH project is being used at the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin and contributes to improving diagnostics and healthcare services in the field of cardiology. The equipment includes a treadmill for exercise testing, a biphasic defibrillator, an automated CPR device, Holter ECG and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring equipment, as well as an ultrasound system for cardiological and vascular examinations with two probes. A particular part of the event was dedicated to the Educational Days on cardiovascular disease prevention organized by the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin in local communities. Through these activities, citizens receive information about the most common cardiovascular risk factors, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, prevention, recognition of symptoms and appropriate response in emergency situations. Educational Days have already been organized in several settlements, while activities during September were held in Ečka, Belo Blato and Melenci. Educational and preventive activities will continue during the forthcoming period. The Promotional Event and Press Conference provided an opportunity to present the achieved project results to representatives of relevant institutions, organizations and the media, as well as to introduce the forthcoming activities aimed at strengthening prevention and improving healthcare in the field of cardiovascular diseases. The SIPHEALTH project is implemented within the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, with the financial support of the European Union. The project partners are the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Timișoara, as Lead Partner, the General Hospital “Sveti Luka” Smederevo and the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin.
Educational Day on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Held in Melenci
As part of the SIPHEALTH – Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area (RORS00008) project, an Educational Day dedicated to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases was held at the premises of the Local Community Office in Melenci on 20 September 2026. The aim of the Educational Day was to inform citizens about the most common risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, the prevention of heart disease, as well as the appropriate response in emergency situations. Doctors from the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin talked with citizens about the importance of prevention and the timely recognition of cardiovascular risk factors. In addition to the educational activities, preventive cardiology examinations were also carried out during the event, providing citizens with an opportunity to check basic health indicators and receive information from healthcare professionals. By organising Educational Days in local communities, the SIPHEALTH project aims to make information on prevention and cardiovascular health more accessible to citizens and to contribute to strengthening preventive medicine and improving public health. The SIPHEALTH project is implemented within the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, with the financial support of the European Union. Educational Days will continue to be organised in other settlements as part of the project activities.

The aim of the Educational Day was to inform citizens about the most common risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, the prevention of heart disease, as well as the appropriate response in emergency situations. Representatives of the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin talked with citizens about the importance of prevention and the timely recognition of cardiovascular risk factors. In addition to the educational activities, preventive cardiology examinations were also carried out during the event, providing citizens with an opportunity to check basic health indicators and receive information from healthcare professionals. As part of the SIPHEALTH – Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area (RORS00008) project, an Educational Day dedicated to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases was held in Ečka on 5 September 2026. The aim of the Educational Day was to inform citizens about the most common risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, as well as the recognition of symptoms and appropriate response in emergency situations. The lectures were delivered by medical specialists from the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin, who presented the importance of prevention and timely recognition of cardiovascular risk factors to the participants. By organising Educational Days in settlements throughout the territory of the City of Zrenjanin, the SIPHEALTH project aims to make information on prevention and cardiovascular health more accessible to citizens and to contribute to strengthening preventive medicine and improving public health. The SIPHEALTH project is implemented within the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Cross- Border Cooperation Programme, with the financial support of the European Union. During the implementation of the project, Educational Days will be organised in settlements throughout the territory of the City of Zrenjanin.
