SIPHEALTH Educational Day Held in Orlovat
As part of the project “Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area – SIPHEALTH” (RORS00008), an Educational Day dedicated to cardiovascular disease prevention was held in Orlovat. The event was organised at the premises of the Orlovat Local Community as part of the activities implemented by General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of prevention and maintaining cardiovascular health. During the educational session, doctors from General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin talked with citizens about the most common cardiovascular risk factors, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits and preventive examinations, as well as the recognition of symptoms and appropriate response in emergency situations. Following the educational session, preventive cardiological examinations were also organised, providing citizens with an opportunity to participate in practical preventive activities in addition to receiving information and advice on maintaining cardiovascular health. The Educational Day in Orlovat is part of a series of activities implemented by General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin in local communities within the SIPHEALTH project, with the aim of promoting cardiovascular disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits. The SIPHEALTH project is implemented within the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, with the financial support of the European Union.

As part of the project “Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area – SIPHEALTH” (RORS00008), an Educational Day dedicated to cardiovascular disease prevention was held in Farkaždin. The event was organised at the premises of the Farkaždin Local Community as part of the activities implemented by General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of prevention and maintaining cardiovascular health. During the educational session, doctors from General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin talked with citizens about the most common cardiovascular risk factors, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits and preventive examinations, as well as the recognition of symptoms and appropriate response in emergency situations. Following the educational session, preventive cardiological examinations were also organised, providing citizens with an opportunity to participate in practical preventive activities in addition to receiving information and advice on maintaining cardiovascular health. SIPHEALTH: Project Results and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Activities Presented in Zrenjanin
A Promotional Event and Press Conference within the project “Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area – SIPHEALTH” (RORS00008) were held at the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin on 22 September 2026. During the event, the activities implemented and results achieved so far were presented, with particular emphasis on the improvement of healthcare services in the field of cardiology, the use of medical equipment procured through the project, and activities aimed at cardiovascular disease prevention. The medical equipment procured within the SIPHEALTH project is being used at the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin and contributes to improving diagnostics and healthcare services in the field of cardiology. The equipment includes a treadmill for exercise testing, a biphasic defibrillator, an automated CPR device, Holter ECG and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring equipment, as well as an ultrasound system for cardiological and vascular examinations with two probes. A particular part of the event was dedicated to the Educational Days on cardiovascular disease prevention organized by the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin in local communities. Through these activities, citizens receive information about the most common cardiovascular risk factors, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, prevention, recognition of symptoms and appropriate response in emergency situations. Educational Days have already been organized in several settlements, while activities during September were held in Ečka, Belo Blato and Melenci. Educational and preventive activities will continue during the forthcoming period. The Promotional Event and Press Conference provided an opportunity to present the achieved project results to representatives of relevant institutions, organizations and the media, as well as to introduce the forthcoming activities aimed at strengthening prevention and improving healthcare in the field of cardiovascular diseases. The SIPHEALTH project is implemented within the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, with the financial support of the European Union. The project partners are the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Timișoara, as Lead Partner, the General Hospital “Sveti Luka” Smederevo and the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin.

The lectures were delivered by medical specialists from the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin, who presented the importance of prevention and timely recognition of cardiovascular risk factors to the participants. By organising Educational Days in settlements throughout the territory of the City of Zrenjanin, the SIPHEALTH project aims to make information on prevention and cardiovascular health more accessible to citizens and to contribute to strengthening preventive medicine and improving public health. Educational Day Held in Elemir within the SIPHEALTH Project
On Saturday, 30 May 2026, an educational day was organized in the Local Community Hall in Elemir as part of the SIPHEALTH project – Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area (RORS00008). During the event, local residents attended a lecture dedicated to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, common risk factors, the importance of regular preventive examinations, and healthy lifestyle habits. A particularly valuable part of the event was the discussion with cardiologists from the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin, who answered questions from citizens and provided professional advice on maintaining cardiovascular health. By organizing educational days in local communities, the SIPHEALTH project contributes to raising public awareness and promoting preventive healthcare among citizens. Educational Day Held in Stajićevo within the SIPHEALTH Project
On 26 April 2026, an educational day was held in the premises of the Local Community Office in Stajićevo within the framework of the SIPHEALTH project – Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area (RORS00008). During the event, local residents had the opportunity to attend a lecture on the prevention of coronary diseases, as well as to directly consult with cardiologists from the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin. A particularly important segment of the event was the interactive discussion, during which participants asked questions and received professional advice on maintaining heart health. By organizing educational activities in local communities, the SIPHEALTH project contributes to raising awareness about prevention and improving public health in the City of Zrenjanin. Third Educational Day Held in Klek within the SIPHEALTH Project
On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, the third educational day within the SIPHEALTH project – Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area (RORS00008) – was held at the premises of the Local Community Office in Klek. Following the successful events in Lazarevo and Lukićevo, the project activities continued in Klek, where citizens had the opportunity to learn more about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The lecture addressed the most common risk factors, the importance of early diagnosis, healthy lifestyle habits, and appropriate response in emergency situations. The event gathered 28 participants, including members of the local community, representatives of institutions, and project team members. By organizing educational days in local communities, the SIPHEALTH project directly contributes to raising awareness about prevention and improving public health in the territory of the City of Zrenjanin. The project is implemented with the support of the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme.
Second Educational Day in Lukićevo
On Sunday, 25 January 2026, the second educational day within the SIPHEALTH project – Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area (RORS00008) was held at the premises of the Local Community Office in Lukićevo. The educational event was dedicated to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, and the lecture was delivered by Dr. Velimir Čolak, cardiologist and member of the project team from the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin. During the lecture, interested citizens were informed about the most common risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, and the proper response in emergency situations. A special segment of the educational day was an open discussion with participants, during which Dr. Čolak answered numerous questions from the audience and provided practical advice on maintaining heart health. The active participation of citizens and the interactive discussion confirmed the strong interest of the local community in preventive health activities. The educational day in Lukićevo is part of a series of educational events organized within the SIPHEALTH project in settlements across the territory of the City of Zrenjanin, aiming to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease prevention and contribute to the improvement of public health.
