Third Educational Day Held in Klek within the SIPHEALTH Project
On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, the third educational day within the SIPHEALTH project – Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area (RORS00008) – was held at the premises of the Local Community Office in Klek. Following the successful events in Lazarevo and Lukićevo, the project activities continued in Klek, where citizens had the opportunity to learn more about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The lecture addressed the most common risk factors, the importance of early diagnosis, healthy lifestyle habits, and appropriate response in emergency situations. The event gathered 28 participants, including members of the local community, representatives of institutions, and project team members. By organizing educational days in local communities, the SIPHEALTH project directly contributes to raising awareness about prevention and improving public health in the territory of the City of Zrenjanin. The project is implemented with the support of the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme.
Second Educational Day in Lukićevo
On Sunday, 25 January 2026, the second educational day within the SIPHEALTH project – Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area (RORS00008) was held at the premises of the Local Community Office in Lukićevo. The educational event was dedicated to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, and the lecture was delivered by Dr. Velimir Čolak, cardiologist and member of the project team from the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin. During the lecture, interested citizens were informed about the most common risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, and the proper response in emergency situations. A special segment of the educational day was an open discussion with participants, during which Dr. Čolak answered numerous questions from the audience and provided practical advice on maintaining heart health. The active participation of citizens and the interactive discussion confirmed the strong interest of the local community in preventive health activities. The educational day in Lukićevo is part of a series of educational events organized within the SIPHEALTH project in settlements across the territory of the City of Zrenjanin, aiming to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease prevention and contribute to the improvement of public health.
Educational Day in Lazarevo
On 21 December 2025, within the SIPHEALTH project, an educational workshop dedicated to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases was successfully held in Lazarevo. The event gathered around 30 participants, mainly local residents, who attentively followed the lecture and actively engaged in discussion with cardiologist Dr. Velimir Čolak. During the workshop, participants received practical advice on recognizing risk factors, adopting healthy lifestyle habits, and responding appropriately in emergency situations related to heart diseases. The interactive discussion enabled citizens to ask questions and receive professional guidance directly from medical experts. This educational day represents an important step in strengthening preventive healthcare and raising awareness about cardiovascular disease prevention at the local level.
Two Newly Established Cardiology Clinics Presented in Zrenjanin within the SIPHEALTH Project
On 04.09.2025, a press conference was held at the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin to present the results of the cross-border project “Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area – SIPHEALTH” (RORS00008). During the event, the public and media representatives were presented with two newly established cardiology clinics, equipped with modern medical devices: a high-resolution treadmill for ergometric testing, a biphasic defibrillator with four operating modes, an automatic CPR machine, a Holter ECG and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring device, as well as an ultrasound machine for cardiology and vascular examinations with two probes. These clinics will enable faster, more accurate, and more efficient diagnostics and treatment of patients, significantly improving the quality of healthcare in the Central Banat District. In the upcoming period, in the settlements of the City of Zrenjanin, the project team together with the hospital’s medical staff will organize educational days for the local population. The goal of these activities is to raise awareness about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide practical advice on how to reduce the risk of heart disease. These events represent an important segment of the project as they ensure direct communication with citizens and strengthen the role of preventive medicine.
General Hospital “Djordje Joanovic” Zrenjanin Acquires New Medical Equipment within the SIPHEALTH Project
As part of the cross-border project “Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area – SIPHEALTH”, General Hospital “Djordje Joanovic” Zrenjanin has successfully procured new, state-of-the-art medical equipment that will enhance the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular patients in the Central Banat District. The newly acquired equipment includes: This procurement marks a significant step in strengthening the hospital’s capacity for cardiovascular diagnostics, enabling faster and more accurate patient assessments, as well as a more efficient response in emergency situations. The SIPHEALTH project is implemented in cooperation with the “Sveti Luka” General Hospital in Smederevo and the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Timisoara, with financial support from the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme.
