Educational Day in Lazarevo

On 21 December 2025, within the SIPHEALTH project, an educational workshop dedicated to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases was successfully held in Lazarevo. The event gathered around 30 participants, mainly local residents, who attentively followed the lecture and actively engaged in discussion with cardiologist Dr. Velimir Čolak. During the workshop, participants received practical advice on recognizing risk factors, adopting healthy lifestyle habits, and responding appropriately in emergency situations related to heart diseases. The interactive discussion enabled citizens to ask questions and receive professional guidance directly from medical experts. This educational day represents an important step in strengthening preventive healthcare and raising awareness about cardiovascular disease prevention at the local level.
Two Newly Established Cardiology Clinics Presented in Zrenjanin within the SIPHEALTH Project

On 04.09.2025, a press conference was held at the General Hospital “Đorđe Joanović” Zrenjanin to present the results of the cross-border project “Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area – SIPHEALTH” (RORS00008). During the event, the public and media representatives were presented with two newly established cardiology clinics, equipped with modern medical devices: a high-resolution treadmill for ergometric testing, a biphasic defibrillator with four operating modes, an automatic CPR machine, a Holter ECG and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring device, as well as an ultrasound machine for cardiology and vascular examinations with two probes. These clinics will enable faster, more accurate, and more efficient diagnostics and treatment of patients, significantly improving the quality of healthcare in the Central Banat District. In the upcoming period, in the settlements of the City of Zrenjanin, the project team together with the hospital’s medical staff will organize educational days for the local population. The goal of these activities is to raise awareness about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide practical advice on how to reduce the risk of heart disease. These events represent an important segment of the project as they ensure direct communication with citizens and strengthen the role of preventive medicine.
General Hospital “Djordje Joanovic” Zrenjanin Acquires New Medical Equipment within the SIPHEALTH Project

As part of the cross-border project “Harmonization of Cardiovascular Diseases Management from Prevention to Heart Transplantation in the Cross-Border Area – SIPHEALTH”, General Hospital “Djordje Joanovic” Zrenjanin has successfully procured new, state-of-the-art medical equipment that will enhance the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular patients in the Central Banat District. The newly acquired equipment includes: This procurement marks a significant step in strengthening the hospital’s capacity for cardiovascular diagnostics, enabling faster and more accurate patient assessments, as well as a more efficient response in emergency situations. The SIPHEALTH project is implemented in cooperation with the “Sveti Luka” General Hospital in Smederevo and the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Timisoara, with financial support from the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme.
